There’s something incredibly special about women’s tournament days. The early starts, the nervous energy on the first tee, the quiet focus over putts — and of course, the laughter that carries through the fairways.
The Shandon Women’s Open was all of that and more.
Merigolf was so proud to be involved this year, with each winner receiving a merino polo of their choice. Supporting women who compete, show up, and play the game with confidence is exactly why Merigolf exists.
And on a personal note, the day will always hold a very special place in my heart.
I was fortunate enough to win Division 1 Stableford — my very first golf victory. To say it was a thrill would be an understatement. Golf has a way of humbling you far more often than it rewards you, so to have a day where things came together felt incredibly meaningful. It’s a reminder of why we keep turning up, keep practicing, and keep believing the next round might just be the one.
But tournaments like this don’t just happen.
A huge thank you to Kim, Jo, Mi and all the wonderful ladies at Shandon who work tirelessly behind the scenes. From organisation to logistics to creating such a welcoming atmosphere, it’s their dedication that makes events like this so successful. The seamless feel of the day is a direct result of hours of unseen effort.
Women’s golf continues to grow because of communities like this — supportive, encouraging, and passionate about the game.
Congratulations to all the winners, and thank you to every player who made the day what it was.
Here’s to more tournaments, more friendships, and perhaps a few more personal bests along the way.
Feel Good. Play Amazing.
